multimedia critique twoThe goal of this critique is for you to apply the research and studies you have read and discussed this semester and put together a clear, convincing and authoritative critique of ONE of the multimedia presentations below. When writing your critique, you will want to be sure to identify what you believe to be the focused goal of each presentation. If the goal isn’t apparent then -- of course -- you’ll want to incorporate that design flaw in the critique. But in any case you’ll need to assert something to provide a basis for your critique. Second, you will want to consider the five areas of good multimedia design we have been studying: (1) News value to the audience (2) information editing (3) information architecture (4) aesthetic presentation (5) innovation. Third, you will want to reference research we have studied (just include the name of the study and the author/authors) when making assertions about the success/failure of the presentation’s design. As the author of the critique, you certainly can make observations and draw conclusions, but you will want to back up these statements with some hard evidence. Finally, you will want to critique the SEO of the presentation based on the readings, tools and class lecture on this topic. The text of each critique should be NO LONGER than four double-spaced pages with 1-inch page margins and a 12 pt. Times or Arial font. Be sure to use screen grabs to illustrate points. (Screen grabs do not count in your four-page length.) Please print out your critiques and hand them in at the start of class on Nov. 19. Presentation choices (choose one) |
